Description of Duties: This position involves directly providing technical solutions and support for the maintenance, enhancement, configuration, and customization of a client’s Documentum 6.5 application.

This individual will be responsible for working with clients and team members to design, develop, test, and maintain the client’s Documentum-based Project Document Library. The System Architect will work with project managers, clients/users, administrators, and other team members (e.g. requirements analyst, other testers) to develop solutions for the organization.

As system architect, the person will be the primary technical and process improvement expert in developing solutions in Documentum. Working under the program’s Technical Solutions Group (TSG), the person will provide technical support to the application in production; design and develop enhancements; support, implement, or automate document management policies; and create standardized and more efficient processes and workflows. This individual will define architecture for any software development projects using Documentum.
Special Skills: The Contractor must provide architect support, technical guidance and presence to:

• Plan, execute, and manage the operations of the Documentum application.
• Track, document, review, troubleshoot, and develop solutions for problems submitted by Documentum users.
• Work with users to resolve technical issues and to provide implementation support.
• Develop and/or support processes for tracking and addressing Documentum-related issues.
• Implement enhancements and upgrades to the Documentum application.
• Work with Managers and Project Leads on Documentum-related projects.
• Develop and maintain appropriate management, scheduling, and tracking systems in formulating and maintaining related project/maintenance schedules and activities in accordance with the established Systems Development Lifecycle methodology (SDLC).
• Provide LOE for tasks/activities related to the execution of Documentum-related activities and development of solutions.
• Work may include the development/documentation of project deliverables such as:
o Design documents;
o Data Flow Diagrams;
o Status Reports;
o Test Plans;
o Test results;
o Troubleshooting Guides
o Training Manuals
o Status Reports
o Operations Manual
• Document and gather functional and technical requirements in relation to supporting the Documentum system.
• Develop, update, and execute test plans and test scripts in accordance with established standards and procedures.
• Work with other developers to facilitate knowledge transfer; participates in pair programming; Participate in technical design reviews and code reviews.
• Perform performance tuning on Documentum infrastructure; Assist with administration of Documentum environment as needed.
• Contribute to development of company objectives and principles and achieves goals in creative and effective ways.
• Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
• Provide risk analysis and recommendations related to the Documentum application.
• Define and capture applicable performance/operations metrics.
• Perform analysis, provide alternatives/recommendations, and develop white papers when necessary.
• Contributes to development of company objectives and principles and achieves goals in creative and effective ways.
• Performs other duties as assigned or needed.
Related Work Experience: • 5+ years’ experience in the implementation, development, configuration, and support of EMC’s Documentum suite of tools (understand full functionality of the application)

• Technical expertise related to the development of content management systems, including:
o Significant Java development experience
o Significant XML experience
o Experience in PL/SQL
o Experience in JavaScript
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or equivalent work experience, and 10 years in a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• 2+ years’ experience managing a Software Engineering team.
• Knowledge in eliciting and documenting requirements.
• Practical experience in reviewing business requirements and providing a system design/configuration to meet/fulfill the requirements.
• Practical experience on building and managing requirements traceability matrix.
• Practical experience in coding and/or configuring Documentum in support of development and testing.
• Practical experience with workflow design and implementation.
• Practical experience in building test scripts and performing testing.
• Practical experience in system operational support (tier 2 or 3).
• Knowledge in systems development life cycle.
• Knowledge in the life cycle of EMC’s Documentum software.
• Effective communicate skills with peers, subordinates and management.
