Description of Duties: Under the direction of the VP of Business Development, responsible for understanding the Federal market for IT services, building business relationships with key customers, and qualifying business opportunities (within OnPoint’s four lines of business: Network Operations, Systems Development, Project Management, and Information Assurance).
Responsible for supporting and positioning OnPoint to capture new and existing business opportunities (including developing teaming relationships, analyzing the competition, and developing win strategies), tracking targeted opportunities, and working with capture and proposal development teams to help OnPoint win new Federal IT business.
Tracks and qualifies business opportunities identified by the VP of Business Development.
Develops and implements account plan(s) for strategic account(s) identified in collaboration with VP of Business Development and Practice Managers.
Develops and fosters key customer relationships within strategic accounts and for targeted opportunities.
Conducts sales calls to targeted customers, presents OnPoint’s management and technical capabilities, and conveys a solid technical understanding of project/technical areas of interest, and identifies requirements, win themes, and potential solutions for opportunities.
Conducts market research and analysis, gathers market and competitive data, and provides initial analysis of those data, especially as it relates to their strategic account(s).
Participates in the Step Review Process through information gathering and analysis, preparing and presenting Step Reviews to Senior Management for assigned opportunities.
Works with Capture Managers to effectively position OnPoint to win new business opportunities; prepares detailed reviews for opportunities that are qualified to go into capture.
Consistently updates and reports on assigned opportunities in the BD pipeline and BD database.
Special Skills: Proficient in Federal business development with at least 5 years demonstrated experience in all facets of Federal marketing and business development for IT services-focused business opportunities.
Demonstrated experience in account planning and strategy implementation.
Track record of winning new Federal contracts and acquiring new clients.
Experience analyzing the competition, developing win themes, and enhancing the win probability of opportunities.
Energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards and appropriate professional image.
Well-organized and self-directed individual; ability to balance and prioritize competing requirements.
Articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of managers and possesses excellent communication (written and oral presentation) skills.
Technical knowledge or experience in IT services preferred.
A team player; trustworthy and willing to share information with team members.
Demonstrated understanding of Federal government IT market and contracting processes and regulations.
Related Work Experience: Bachelor's Degree Required, Master's preferred.
