OnPoint to Support Federal Railroad Administration Information Security Program
ARLINGTON, VA – September, 2007 - OnPoint Consulting Inc. (OnPoint) has been awarded a three-year contract with the Department of Transportation (DOT) Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) to provide Certification and Accreditation (C&A), IT Security Incident Response, and Security Program Support.
FRA is one of 10 modal administrations within the DOT, along with existing OnPoint customers such as the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). FRA’s mission is to:
- Promulgate and enforce rail safety regulations
- Administer railroad assistance programs
- Conduct R&D to improve railroad safety and national policy
- Consolidate government support of rail activities.
